CHINESE MEDICINE PRACTITIONER (PHD, MSC, MAC, MAPPSCI CHI H MED.)
Dr Liang Zhong Chen began his training in China, having gained qualifications in the medical science in Beijing (Dip), Hohhot(Dip) and the Chinese Academy of Science(Master of Science) (1973-1982). Subsquently he has completed further studies at a number of different universities in Australia. These include a PhD(Human Genetics) at the John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU,Canberra (1985-1989); Master of Applied Science (Chinese Herbal Medicine) RMIT, Melbourne (2004-2007); Master of Acupuncture, Sydney (2005-2007); and Master of Theological Studies, Australian Lutheran College, Adelaide (2010-2012). He also spent a number of years as a research medical scientist in various international institutions (in China 1980s, and Stockholm 1981, Hamburg University1982, Tokyo University 1989, Otago University 1990, and Adelaide Children’s Hospital (1989-1992). Dr Chen has now been practising Chinese medicine for over 25 years in his Adelaide based Advanced Chinese Therapy clinic.
Dr Hailin Han began her medical training in China, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 2012, followed by a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2016. Dr Han has extensive clinical experience and specialises in the combined use of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, with a particular focus on neurological and functional conditions, including migraine, functional gastrointestinal disorders, anxiety, sleep disorders, and chronic pain. In 2025, Dr Han completed a Master of Social Work at Flinders University, Australia. She is committed to a holistic, patient-centred approach to care, integrating physical, psychological, and social perspectives in clinical practice.
